Matthew Douglas in twin exhibition project "Stripped" London/Bristol

London: 14th April - 24th April 2011

Bristol: 11th June - 19th June 2011

STRIPPED London/Bristol, includes work by Matthew Douglas, Pat Jamieson, Emma Nutbrown and Simon Ledson.

This twin project is the culmination of fourteen months preparation by the four Bristol based artists whose collaboration promises a rich, stimulating and refreshingly tonal experience.

Matthew Douglas produces works that constitute interruptions in the flow of time. He holds the spectator in a frozen moment surrounded by the forces of change. His practice navigates the ebb and flow and flux which is the stuff of life.

Douglas challenges notions of permanence and stasis in a world where nothing can ever remain the same and everything is connected in the process of dynamic disintegration and reintegration.

Recent exhibitions includes: "Eight Drawings", Bristol; "Cohort Now", Berlin and "Settling the Matter", London.

Matthew Douglas lives and works in Bristol and Somerset.
