Art Event: "Progress in Process"

23rd – 27th February 2009

Matthew Douglas will be inhabiting the Lightwell space at the far west end of the AVA building for one week, commencing Monday 23rd. During this time the artist will be producing a series of large drawn works in situ, making recordings, taking notes and shooting photographs, whilst arranging a select body of recent work on steel.

Visitors to the space are welcome at any time to view the progress of the show, however a more formal Private View will be held on Wednesday 25th from 5pm.

During this week two sessions of recorded discussion will be held, these will be coordinated by the artist.

  • Show opens 9am : Artist working in situ [ from 9am ] Large drawn work undertaken, curating recent work, note making, photography

  • Tuesday 24th
  • No activity – open as usual

  • Wednesday 25th
  • Artist working in situ [ from midday ] discussion [ from 3pm ]
    Discussion topics : GESTURE, FORCED / UNFORCED ACTION, TEMPORALITY

    Private View [ from 5pm ]

  • Thursday 26th
  • Artist working in situ [ from 9am ]

  • Friday 27th
  • Artist working in situ [ from 9am ] discussion [ from 3pm ]
    Discussion topics : THE TOWERING STRUCTURE, EGOTISM , HIERARCHY

    Show ends 6pm
