Volume 200,000

State:

Tim Plamper at "4play" in Berlin

21st May - 23rd May 2010

Tim Plamper, Betty Böhm, Sabeth Drumheller, Menja Stevenson

The four artists present both visual and musical works at INFERNOESQUE. Although each artist shows a distinguished individual approach, their works are, nevertheless, linked by peculiar features.

Menja Stevenson's explorations of the everyday life as well as her irritations of common perceptual habits are mirrored by Betty Böhm's video-loops. Böhm’s works oscillate between tragic movie quotations and tangled role plays. Tim Plamper’s collages – a mixture of enigmatic haziness and crystal-like rigidity – create a rhythmical echo of both artists alike.

Sabeth Drumheller provides the musical counterpart. For a moment her driving electro beats seem to animate the audience to participate and dance, then all of a sudden it's putting the audience in it's place again. All throughout, longingly melodies alternate with rough sound collages picking up the approaches of the three visual artists and make Drumheller’s work the soundtrack of the show.

Long lives friendship! Three cheers for ambiguity!
